About

Nate Porter, LCSW

Nate has been in the mental health field for 10+ years. He started with coaching, which gave him a window into the internal world of young athletes. This work helped him realize life is less about producing results, and more about developing well-being in others. Nate pursued and obtained degrees from UVU and BYU in order to become a mental health therapist. Following his education he worked for 6 years at The Green House Center, gaining experience as a therapist, supervisor and Administrative Director. All of this experience gave Nate the confidence to start Blackbird Counseling, bringing him back to where he started - helping young athletes develop mental health and well-being.
