How do I schedule appointments?
Each client is given access to the Blackbird Counseling client portal powered by Simple Practice. In the portal you have access to your therapists calendar and you can request available appointments. The calendar is open from the current day to three months into the future - giving clients the opportunity to create the session schedule that works best for them. You are also able to cancel and reschedule appointments from the client portal.
How long is each appointment?
Sessions are typically 50-60 minutes long and are often scheduled weekly, especially in the beginning. Initially meeting weekly provides the opportunity to develop a relationship of trust with your therapist. Most clients then naturally fall into a frequency of sessions that works best for them over time.
How do I pay for appointments?
Clients can pay for sessions using credit, debit, HSA, or FSA cards. Checks are also accepted. In your Blackbird Counseling client portal you are encouraged to upload a card to be stored securely on file, which will be used to collect payment for appointments.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you need to cancel an appointment, we require 48 hours advance notice. You are able to easily cancel in the Blackbird Counseling client portal. If you are trying to cancel with less than 48 hours notice, we issue a $75 late notice fee. We are very understanding of unforeseen or complicated circumstances and are happy to work with clients on rescheduling sessions.
